We aren’t the paparazzi, and we certainly don’t have any intention of swinging the HOT ROD Brand in that direction. But sometimes, news comes a long that’s such an unexpected bummer that we choose to use our outlet to remember someone lost. On Wednesday night, May 17th 2017, Chris Cornell, one of music’s most epic voices died at the age of 52. Cornell was the lead singer of Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Temple of the Dog and had numerous solo projects. He was a major contributor to the grunge music explosion of the ‘90s and was placed 9th on Rolling Stone Magazine’s list of “Best Lead Singers of All Time. He had a voice larger than life and was the speaker-blasting soundtrack to more than a few of our teenage and young adult years––this one hurts.
In a final sendoff to an artist the world will never replace. We leave you with the music video to “Show Me How to Live” by Audioslave, in which Cornell and band fittingly drive the Vanishing Point Challenger in a final getaway. Adios Chris, you rocked our faces off.
