In the endless circuit of shows, cruise-ins, and other car related events, it’s easy to forget that we aren’t the only car crazy country. Folks all around the world are influenced by American autos and love muscle cars, hot rods, and customs just as much as we do. So whenever a freelance photographer offers up a glance into another country’s classic car scene, we jump on it!
This set comes from the 2nd annual Bangkok Custom Show hosted by the Bangkok Hot Rod Club. The event took place on May 13th and 14th in the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre in Bangna, Thailand. Just like a homeland car show, there was food, fun, and all manner of automotive creations. In addition, the show had pinstripers working live to further enhance hot rods, tattoo artists and even a few famous faces. Japanese motorcycle builder, Kaichiroh Kurosu was in attendance; as well as Thai bike builder, Fatboy Design; and “Hawaii Joe,” a well-known Thai Hot rod designer and builder. Take a look in the gallery of your favorite rides, built on the other side of the world with a unique, Thai touch.
