Logan, Utah is rocking today…final day and a great gathering
It’s Saturday and the third and final day of the 2017 Cache Valley Cruise-In celebrating its 35th year and the atmosphere is anything but winding down it’s still winding up! Coming off of a musical high last night with a 90-plus minute concert by Night Ranger everyone is enjoying the perfect mid-70s temps, light breeze, and clear skies.
Today is awards day with loads of them to be handed out including two from Street Rodder magazine with the first being given to Ron and Cary Zipperer from Clinton, Utah with their 1939 Ford Tudor sedan and followed by Lee Hugoe and his 1956 Chevy 210 from West Bountiful, Utah. End of award ceremonies is also capped off with the selecting of one lucky street rodder who will be taking home a 1937 Ford pickup that was built by the club members utilizing many components generously supplied form manufacturers within the street rod industry.
End of day Friday saw over 600 entries while Saturday is looking like 850-plus cars are on the grounds and the local community is showing great support by flooding the spectator gates. Once again the Cache Valley Cruising Association has put on one heck of a show with lots to enjoy for the entire family. (I’m particular fan of the stream that meanders through the fairgrounds underneath the massive shade trees…you know where to find your kid!)
