Chad Hill and the crew from Hot Rod Chassis & Cycle brought their recently completed 1967 Chevelle they call Rush. Built in a road racing style, it has the right look with a front splitter, a rear wing, a Ridetech Tiger Cage, and plenty of LS horsepower and a RideTech suspension to back it up. The owner plans on taking advantage of the autocross course we’ve got set up at Beech Bend, which will be the first time the car has been driven on track.
After several versions of renderings, the final color scheme used a factory Mitsubishi blue and an off-center cream stripe with Chevy Orange accents.VFN built the fiberglass decklid with the custom spoiler designed by Chad Hill.A track-tuned suspension from Ridetech uses American Racing wheels, Wilwood brakes, and Nitto NT05 tires, with 245/40R18 front and 295/35R18 rear.Custom SS 376 emblems are from Billet Badges and have Chevy orange accents to match the stripe.An LSA V8 with a Camaro ZL1 charge cooler lid put out a bit more than the factory-rated 580 hp.The RideTech shocks are adjustable vie remote reservoir, making for easy access.Recaro seats and four-point harness hold the front occupants in tight and a RideTech Tiger Cage helps reinforce the chassis for consistent handling. A Tremec six-speed was installed using a Hurst driveline kit that works with the factory four-speed console.The custom dash was built from two factory dashes and houses Auto Meter gauges.Hot Rod Chassis & Cycle fabricated the road race style front splitterThe knob is a BrakeOMeter proportioning valve that allows for on-the-fly adjustment of front to rear brake bias. The H-handle if a fire suppression system.Suspension is from RideTech with Hot Rod Chassis & Cycle’s own brackets mounted to a Moser 9-inch rear to utilize the Chevelle’s factory four-link mounting
