The United Sprint Car Series paid a visit to Carolina Speedway on Friday, July 21. Our trusted freelancer Mike Slade was on hand to take in the action as the Sprints took on the 4/10-mile track.
On this night Lance Moss was victorious, picking up his first USCS win of the season. Jeff Parsons scored a win in the SECA Modifieds, Steve Totherow won the Street Stock feature, Andrew Baker topped the Renegades, David Laney won in the Hornets, and Jerry Oliver Jr. captured the win in the 4 Cylinders.
Carolina Speedway was built in 1961 after Robinwood Speedway in Gastonia, NC closed. It was opened by the Harrison family and legendary promoter Humpy Wheeler. Known as “the action track,” Carolina Speedway is home to the Annual Shrine 100 and the King of the Carolinas.
