Wendover Nugget Hosts Annual Speed Week Car Show
Our Speed Week ritual begins with the car show at the Wendover Nugget and it is typically packed with traditional rods nicely seasoned with a fresh sprinkling of salt. Pre-War hot rods just look better that way. This year’s sampling at the show seemed particularly flush with early Hemi V8s with a few oddball powerplants mixed in for good measure. You can find those photos towards the end of our gallery.

One of the most popular draws at the show was a former HOT ROD cover car that was photographed during Speed Week 2009. The McCulloch-supercharged flathead straight-eight engine looks as good now as it did then. We spent a few minutes admiring the details, some of which we’d missed the last time we spotted the roadster.
