Our MM&FF Pro Dyno Battle at the Beach dyno competition took place today at North Myrtle Beach Drag Strip as part of the Mustang Week Test-n-Tune day. We picked 12 cars for the competition, but attrition and scheduling conflicts dropped us to an even 8 cars. No matter, though, we still had quality cars ranging from pushrod combinations to Coyote swaps to GT500s. We had a couple S550 Mustangs planned for the competition, but both of those cars ran into mechanical issues just prior to the competition, keeping them from competing.

In the end, it was Austin Holley’s 2013 Boss 302 with an Armageddon Turbo Systems twin-turbocharger kit on the car. The engine itself is stock, but as we know, the Boss 302 Voodoo powerplant is a stout piece over the standard Mustang GT engines. Austin’s Boss 302 benefits from all the support systems needed to go along with twin turbochargers, and a Freddy Brown Performance 4R70W transmission with a Circle D converter.

Austin won the 2017 MM&FF Pro Dyno Battle at the Beach by making over 850 horsepower at the wheels. Along with shots of Austin’s Boss 302, here’s a gallery of the Battle at the Beach cars. Stay tuned for the full Pro Dyno Battle at the Beach story on Mustang360.
