Kevin Thomas Jr., Tanner Thorson and Rico Abreu scored big wins in last week’s Louie Vermeil Classic. Abreu scored the biggest of all as he won both the USAC/CRA Sprint Car and Western States Midget features during Sunday’s event.
In the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars, Thomas charged past Abreu to capture the win during the Saturday portion of the event. On Sunday, Abreu would not be denied as he passed Ryan Bernal on lap 26 of the 30-lap main and cruised to victory.
Tanner Thorson slid past Shane Golobic on the final lap of the Saturday Western States Midget feature. On Sunday Golobic would again show the way, until Abreu stole the lead for good on lap 20.
