The Holley LS Fest is back again and if there’s anything we’ve come to expect from this action-packed show, it’s a strong showing of Corvettes. This year has been no exception because everywhere you look there’s a Vette, whether that be the autocross, the drag strip or the show and shine.
Corvettes have many inherent strengths when it comes to the events here at Holley LS Fest with their fiberglass bodies and high-powered LS or LT engines. In fact, we stopped by the High Noon Shoot Out put on by our friends over at Chevy High Performance Magazine where they choose the top eight cars on the autocross to compete and six of the eight were Corvettes. A C5 Vette piloted by Danny Popp took top honors.
We saw plenty of Corvettes running hard down the drag strip too. Temperatures were just about as good as it gets for September at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky, so car were gripping off the line and sucking in cool air, making for some pretty spectacular passes. Even more spectacular were the crowds which continued to pile into the raceway grounds well into the afternoon Saturday, filling the grandstands and vender row.
At this point, there’s no point in rambling on—we’ll let our huge photo gallery and video evidence tell the rest of the story. Enjoy!
