HOT ROD Drag Week 2017, powered by Dodge and presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive
The unusually mild weather we’ve faced at the beginning of Drag Week continued on the fourth day of competition, but it wasn’t without consequences. The low temperatures made for a foggy morning and racing was postponed not because of the racing surface, but simply because of visibility. At 8:00, visibility from the timing tower was limited to just about the Christmas tree. Racing began at 9:30 with full staging lanes and wound down an hour later than usual, with most racers hitting the road after one or two passes. The biggest news was both John Faraone and Glenn Hunter, last year’s third place finisher overall, pulling out of competition. Faraone had ECU issues, while Glenn Hunter stripped a timing belt.
