The annual KBPI Rock N Roll Car Show has been a staple in the Colorado automotive community for 13 years now, and for good reason. Open to all makes, models, and oddities, the show is touted as the biggest automotive event in the region. And you know what that means—lots of cool Fords and killer Mustangs!

The KBPI Rock N Roll Car Show was started by Denver-area radio station 106.7FM KBPI back in 2005, at which time it occupied a small local bar’s parking lot before moving to a large shopping center a few years later. Fronted by the station’s fearless leading DJ and avid gearhead, Willie B. (most recently of Grudge Run fame), the popular show moved to Bandimere Speedway in 2010, breathing a whole new life into the already bustling show.

With much more space than the previous locations and the drag strip at their disposal, the KBPI crew is now able to offer more show classes to compete in, more vendors and live music, a stellar burnout contest, and of course, the beloved “grudge runs” down the track for just $3 per race. As you can imagine, the drag racing portion of the show is the most popular aspect these days, with everyone from the kid in a Honda Prelude who’s never set foot on a dragstrip to well-prepped and tuned weekend warriors taking their turns calling out rivals for an all-out blast to the end of the quarter mile.

Be sure to check out the photo gallery below to see some of the awesome sights from this year’s show, including one hot Mustang that made it many rounds in the burnout contest. And if you’re in the Mile High City next August, be sure to put the KBPI Rock N Roll Car Show on your to-do list!
