You’ve probably seen Marcus Anghel’s name in Mustang Monthly magazine and on this website, since he’s an occasional contributor to Mustang Monthly. His shop, Anghel Restorations, is responsible for some top-notch MCA award-winning Mustang restorations with special emphasis on Boss and other rare Mustangs.
The shop is not far from Westworld where the huge Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction takes place every January, so it’s a no-brainer to hold an open house when a bunch of people are in town, many of them in the market for rare and high-end Mustangs. We were there last year (2017) when the focus was on Boss 302 cars and it was well-attended with luminaries such as former Mustang Monthly editor and Mustang historian Donald Farr, contributor and author Jerry Heasley, Bob Perkins (Perkins Restoration), and many more very knowledgeable Mustang experts and owners, and Marcus even has a food truck to serve breakfast and coffee to attendees.
This year’s open house, on January 20, 2018, will focus on various Cobra Jet and Shelby displays plus an 11,000-mile original San Jose 1968 Mustang on a lift for undercarriage detailing questions and answers. Marcus said, “This car is one of the best unrestored examples ever found, with photos and details. It’s a true survivor that has never been taken apart or touched since day one and helpful for both restorers and car collectors as you can see assembly line details and techniques which the factory did.” He added, “bring your camera and feel free to ask questions.”
If you want to go (and Scottsdale is a nice place to be in the winter time, especially if you live in the colder parts of the country), you need to RSVP my January 15, 2018 to marcus@anghelrestorations.com. And for more information on the shop, check out www.anghelrestorations.com
