Dodge//SRT and the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving have joined forces to teach everyday drivers and car enthusiasts how to drag race. They are calling it the “Dodge //SRT Bondurant Drag Racing School”. If you are the proud owner of a Dodge//SRT product, you already have access to this amazing opportunity. If you don’t own any of their products, no worries because you can still take classes and drive the wide range of cars that Dodge//SRT includes in the program. Demon owners can participate in the full day of classes at no additional cost.
The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving is a driver training and racing school located in Phoenix Arizona. The school features a three-mile, 26-turn track with 11 different configurations making for a world-class performance driving school. Bondurant also has over 200 race-prepped vehicles.
Students will receive both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction about all the elements of drag racing. Proper launching technique, staging, reaction time, signals, and safety pre-and post-checks are some of the knowledge imparted by the pros at Bondurant. Students also get 22 single-lane runs. This means water box burnout, staging, 60-foot pass, half and full pass, all in different Challenger Models. Aside from the 840hp Demon, Bondurant has the 707hp Hellcat, Hellcat Widebody, and the 485hp Challenger SRT 392.
To make the experience and education as authentic as possible, NHRA Top Fuel driver Leah Pritchett consulted with educators on developing the program. “Bondurant and Dodge’s drag racing school will give Demon owners and enthusiasts the skills they need to be competitive during quarter-mile runs,” said Pritchett. “I’m excited that so many drivers will get to experience that shot of adrenalin that comes at max speed for 1320-feet.”
“The Dodge//SRT brands deliver more horsepower than any other brand in our segment,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Cars, Dodge//SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. “We want our enthusiasts to respect the full capability of their machines.”
“We’re thrilled to team up with Dodge on this exciting new drag racing program, featuring the wicked fast Dodge Challenger SRT Demon,” said Jason Bondurant, vice president of Bondurant Racing School. “Our course will be led by our professional instructors who will give students the chance to experience first-hand the impressive capabilities of this audacious production drag car.”
