The new Digital HP ignition box from PerTronix is like a successful reinvention of the wheel. It’s small (70 percent smaller than other boxes), packs a 187 mJ punch (30 percent more than other products), and contains effective and simple features to get the exact performance you’d expect from a quality ignition box.
Of all the features in this little box, the three-step digital rev-limiter is key. You can program launch control, a burnout limit, and the over-rev protection ensures your engine’s health if you go a little too hard. It’s like an extra layer of insurance for your car no matter if you or your buddies hop in the driver’s seat.
The box also contains a trigger that references RPM to more accurately control shift lights, relays, and other inputs. If you’ve got a thumpy cam or high compression that makes for difficult cold starts, the Digital HP has an adjustable timing retard.
