Rainy days at the drag strip, we’ve all been there. But even though Test & Tune is a no-go today, the participants and event staff are all troopers and the show goes on! Light rain might deter drag cars from roaring down the strip but it certainly didn’t deter the rest of the show as we had a strong showing in the ever-popular swap meet and car show.
This year marks the 32nd annual Super Chevy Show here in Memphis Tennessee and one of the staples of this show is that swap meet. Even with some inclement weather, the entire west side of the drag strip here at Memphis International Raceway was packed with vendors selling everything from project cars to pit bikes. With a bit of drizzle still descending on the show, we hopped on our handy-dandy covered golf cart and whizzed around the rows of vendors, snapping pics of all the neat-o stuff we came across. And, like taking a photo of your Chevy while it’s still wet from getting a bath, some rain drops just add a little extra glisten to the cars.
So between the swap meet and dozens of show cars and drag cars scattered around the showground, there was still plenty to see here at the Super Chevy Show. Better yet, it looks like the rest of the weekend should be dry and cool so we can expect to see some stellar ETs come Saturday and Sunday. Stay tuned on our Facebook and Instagram pages for the rest of our coverage this weekend and of course, superchevy.com. In the meantime, enjoy this wet and wild (but mostly wet) photo gallery from the event so far.
