This is a prime example of the military version pickup truck based on the former Dodge Power Wagon.
Designed as a multi-purpose vehicle, it was capable of hauling heavy loads over rough terrain. If there was a weak link in the drivetrain, it was the “long stroke” six-cylinder flathead Dodge engine originally designed in the ’30s. The favored replacement engines were built by Hercules.
