Saturday, May 5, 2018 was the occasion for the 13th time when Edelbrock, it’s employees, and the SouthBay Mustang Owners (SBMO) club put on the Edelbrock Car Show. The official location is Edelbrock’s Distribution Center in Torrance, CA, which used to be “Vic’s Toy Barn” that housed Vic Edelbrock’s collection of historic personal and race cars. When Vic passed away last year, the building was turned into the distribution center but remains the home of the annual car show.

Participants were invited to come out and enjoy a day of hot rods, great food, live entertainment, and a great time with fellow automotive enthusiasts. All makes and models are welcome at this show, which runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Oh yeah, spectators’ entry is completely free, and there are shop tours of Edelbrock’s corporate headquarters and manufacturing buildings all day.

A cool part of every Edelbrock Car Show is the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow (HROT) Engine Challenge Regional competition, where local high school students compete in a high-energy engine building competition. The top teams from each region will earn their spot to compete at the National Finals in Las Vegas at the “Showdown at SEMA” in early November.

Other highlights that make this a chill show to just hang out are live music (provided by the High Energy Sound Machine), a Trophy Ceremony (Edelbrock Presidents Choice / Car Club Participation), a Kids Corner with activities, Star Car Central movie-themed cars, a food festival including gourmet offerings from popular food trucks, more live music by Rewind South Bay, a beer and wine garden, and of course a vendor midway.
