Meet the Speakers of GRIP 2017

The lineup of speakers for the 2017 GRIP Seminars presented by Circle Track has been set.  Industry experts from chassis setups, race team management, and data acquisition will be part of the grouping. A former Snowball Derby Champion will also be at the podium.

The GRIP Seminars take place February 10-12 at the Charles Mack Citizen Center in Mooresville, NC.

Here are the speakers:

Jason Enders

Jason Enders is the president of RE Suspension, Inc. Since 2003, RE Suspension has been the industry leader in the sales and service of shocks, springs, brakes and suspension tools.


Gary Crooks

Since the time of working for his father’s Crooks Racing business in 1981, Gary has emerged as one of today’s most sought-after crew chiefs in short track racing. From Canada to Florida, Crooks has led drivers to success, wins, and championships all over the map.


Rex Garrett

Rex is the Director of the Earnhardt Technology group and is charge of Gears, Driveline, Machining Services and Parts.


Bob Simmons

Bob is from Lancaster, PA. He was a professor at Davenport University for six years, and simultaneously an engineering consultant. He was also a development engineer at Delphi Automotive Systems for three years. Bob has experience with steering system design, control system integration, lab testing, and data acquisition. He has worked as a consultant with a number of automotive OEMs, software companies, and racing teams. In his spare time he has prepared and driven his own SCCA-IT racecar. Bob has also been to Mardi Gras.


Geoff Miller and Jerry Wittig from Penske Racing Shocks

Geoff Miller is the Production Manager of Penske.  Jerry Witting is a lead Shock Technician.


Kevin Hughes

Kevin Hughes brings over 25 years as a sales professional in the Motorsports Industry in addition to also being a race team owner. His insight from both sides of the business should prove invaluable to all attendees of the GRIP Seminar.

Kevin is currently the Director of Motorsports Communications Services for Racing Electronics, the world’s largest supplier of 2-way radio communication equipment & accessories to the motorsports industry. He oversees a department of full-time trained field service technicians that provide sales & service to motorsports professionals for communication equipment as well as HANS safety devices & accessories. RE is the Official Radio provider to IndyCar, ARCA, CRA, CARS ProCup, UARA, PASS, ACT, IMS and numerous other sanctioning bodies and facilities. He also oversees a full service 2-way radio & accessory rental department that caters to both teams and large scale event rentals.

In addition to his responsibilities with RE, Kevin has also owned his own successful race team for over 30 years, running Legend cars, Limited Late Models, Late Model Stocks and currently campaigning Super Late Models in PASS & CRA events.


Gary Eaker

Gary Eaker is one of the biggest names in racing aerodynamics.  He has over 35 years of experience in the field.  Before designing and building Aerodyn and A2 Wind Tunnels, Gary received a Bachelor Mechanical Engineering degree from General Motors Institute in 1976. He then went on to be Senior Project Engineer for General Motors Advanced Aero Group. During his time at GM he was recruited by NASCAR race team Hendrick Motorsports where he worked as an aerodynamicist until he began construction on the AeroDyn Wind Tunnel. AeroDyn has served the racing community for 13 years.


Clay Rogers

Clay Rogers is a 5-Time Pro Cup Champion. Clay also has 48 starts between the NASCAR Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series where he led the NCWTS Points after Daytona in 2011. In 2006 he added a win in the Snowball Derby, noted as one of the most prestigious races in all of short track racing.  He also has multiple wins around the short tracks of the Southeast in the UARA, PASS and NASCAR Weekly Series.  In recent years Clay has added driver development to his resume and takes pride in working with up and coming drivers helping them achieve their racing goals!


Seats Still Available!

Less than 20 seats remain for this year’s seminars which promise to be the most hands-on seminars yet.  GRIP will visit the A2 Wind Tunnel and the KRC rig at Morse Measurements for interactive sessions during the seminars.  To register or find more information visit www.gripseminars.com
