Every January, Scottsdale, Arizona’s WestWorld turns into an automotive candy store as Barrett-Jackson displays the world’s most famous automotive auction. Inside was a marvel of 1,700-plus consigned vehicles –– the most ever in Barrett-Jackson auction history. In addition to the massive collection of iron being auctioned, Ride Tech and Factory Five were building cars live on-site!
Mid-week some of the non-record-setting muscle cars crossed the block, many of which sold for very affordable amounts. Toward the end of the week, the action intensified with several celebrities and their cars on stage during live TV auction, such as Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Steven Tyler, to sell his Hennessey Venom GT Spyder. U.S. Olympian, Michael Phelps; Masters champ, Bubba Watson; Dale Earnhardt Jr., Don “The Snake” Prudhomme, Justin Bieber, and Burt Reynolds also made appearances.
If your schedule ever permits attending a Barrett-Jackson auction, it is certainly an experience to check off the bucket list. Besides the Scottsdale, Arizona event there are auctions in Palm Beach, Florida; Mohegan Sun, Connecticut; and Las Vegas, Nevada.
