The 2017 O’Reilly Auto Parts Sacramento Autorama opened its doors to the public at 12 noon, and despite the rain and howling winds, that didn’t keep the public from making their way to the Cal Expo to check out the action before the weekend crowds come pouring in tomorrow and Sunday.
It was good for us, too, as it allowed the opportunity to roam around and see all the cars—not just the top customs and the like—and really get a feel for the show as a whole. And that feel is quite different than what you get down south at Rod Shows’ sister event, the Grand National Roadster Show. Here, things really seem more laid back—with the exception early on during the initial set up, there’s not typical hustle and bustle you might expect…just a nice, mellow vibe. Of course, it’s only Friday—we’ve still got two “huge” days to go!
The Cal Expo opens its doors at 10am tomorrow and Sunday, so if you’re in the greater Sacramento/Stockton/Bay Area regions and nothing to do, head on up to the 67th Sacramento Autorama—just drive extra slow in inclement conditions!
